My work is about interpreting the landscape.  It is also about memory.  My feelings about nature are visceral.  I photograph "fringe" places- areas that are not inhabited by people, but that are rife with evidence of them. I also photograph places from my childhood that have stayed with me and evolved into strange, monochrome memories.

My most recent project is photographing Ghost Forests along the Atlantic coast.

I am also currently working on a project based in the New Jersey Meadowlands.  Growing up in the 70's and 80's, I had a fantasy about living there, despite the dangerous and filthy nature of the area. I now return periodically to attempt to understand the attraction and feelings of security that I felt traversing this vast area as a child.

I currently print on Japanese paper, hand coated with emulsion. I shoot black and white film in multiple formats and coat my own paper negatives for 4x5 and 8x10 pinhole cameras as well as an 8x20 handmade pinhole camera.

Thank you for your interest.
